About Dr Mesham

Dr Michael Mesham Dr Mesham is an ophthalmic surgeon specializing in laser refractive surgery. He graduated at the University of Cape Town in 1986. He did specialist training at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town. He then did further training at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London where he worked in the laser refractive clinic.

He has been involved in excimer laser surgery since it was first introduced to Cape Town and has been performing the lasik procedure since 1995.

He has worked with several excimer laser systems. For the past years he has used the Nidek EC5000 system. This an advanced scanning excimer laser which has proved worldwide to give excellent results particularly in the correction of shortsightedness and astigmatism.
